O mergulhador
Vinicius de Moraes e Pedro de Moraes
Atelier de Arte, 1968
The Diver is a book by Vinicius written in partnership with his son, photographer Pedro de Moraes. Its circulation at the time was two thousand copies. Pedro started taking photographs at the age of 14 and had the opportunity to be one of those who closely recorded the Bossa Nova period and the friendships that surrounded his father. The book consists of a collection of already published poems by Vinicius and selected by Pedro, alongside his photos. Written in 1968, almost independently, the book became a collector's item and remains one of the few positive things from the year in which Vinicius was stripped of his position at Itamaraty by the military regime.
