A arca de Noé
Vinicius de Moraes
Sabiá, 1970

Best known for the album made for children, the poems in Noah's Ark were written by Vinicius many years before its first edition. They were made for his children Suzana and Pedro de Moraes. For many years, they were stored. Only in 1970 did the set of children's poems reach the world. Its launch takes place in Italy, a country where the poet's presence was constant, whether through several visits and seasons or translations of his work.

It is there, precisely when Vinicius meets a friend of Chico Buarque called Toquinho, that the album with children's poems is prepared. The album is called L’Arca. In the same year, his poems set to music in Italy were released as a book in Brazil. Ten years later, two albums dedicated to Vinícius' set of children's poems were also released in the country, with the same name as the book.

Noah's Ark became one of Vinicius de Moraes' most popular books because it created a bond with children. All generations have in their poems a gateway into the world of Brazilian literature and popular music. At the same time, in the musical sphere, it was the first work that introduced him to Toquinho, his partner until the end of his life.
